Qlik Unveils Agentic AI to Power Smarter and More Transparent Business Decisions

5 Min Read

Qlik, a global leader in data and AI solutions, has announced the general availability of its new agentic experience within Qlik Cloud. Delivered through the Qlik Answers conversational interface, this launch aims to provide enterprises with AI-powered analytics that are trustworthy, context-aware, and fully accountable. The company also rolled out the Qlik Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, enabling third-party AI assistants to securely leverage Qlik’s powerful analytical engine.

Bridging AI Reasoning with Governed Analytics

As businesses move beyond AI pilot projects, the demand for production-ready systems that offer transparency and reliability is growing. Qlik’s new agentic experience is designed to meet this need by combining AI reasoning with its unique analytics engine, curated data, and explainable responses suitable for critical decision-making workflows.

The new capabilities enhance Qlik Cloud by allowing users to turn complex questions into governed and explainable answers, with citations and reasoning provided. It also introduces a Discovery Agent to proactively monitor key metrics and flag significant changes, helping teams address issues or seize opportunities early. Furthermore, the platform now supports Data Products for Analytics, creating a reliable foundation of curated datasets for both human and AI analysis.

“In 2026, boards are navigating geopolitical volatility, tightening AI rules, and relentless cost pressure. That changes what enterprise AI has to be: auditable, governed, and able to act inside real workflows,” said Mike Capone, CEO of Qlik. “Qlik’s agentic experience pairs our unique analytics engine with trusted data products and cited knowledge.”

Opening Up to the AI Ecosystem

A key part of the announcement is the launch of the Qlik MCP server, which opens Qlik’s intelligence to the broader AI ecosystem. This protocol allows leading third-party assistants, such as Anthropic’s Claude, to securely access Qlik’s engine and governed data products via APIs. This integration enables teams to generate insights using the AI tools they already have in place, without compromising on data governance.

“The move from copilots to reasoning systems exposes a critical gap in governed context and explainability for many enterprises,” noted Michael Leone, Practice Director and Principal Analytics and AI Analyst at Omdia. “Qlik is addressing this by pairing its analytics engine with MCP, effectively establishing the intelligence layer that agents and assistants need to operate across ecosystems.”

The strategy reflects a commitment to flexibility and control, allowing enterprises to scale AI adoption responsibly. Mike Krut, Senior Vice President of Information Technology at Penske Transportation Solutions, commented, “AI delivers value when it’s built on data that’s already curated, governed and trusted. Qlik’s new agentic capabilities extend analytics our teams already use, helping connect insights directly to operational workflows.”

Relevance for the MENA Tech Scene

For the rapidly digitizing MENA region, Qlik’s advancements in agentic AI offer a significant advantage. As businesses across sectors like finance, retail, and logistics increasingly adopt AI to drive growth, the need for solutions that are both powerful and compliant with regional data governance regulations is paramount.

Qlik’s focus on explainable and auditable AI directly addresses the challenges faced by MENA enterprises looking to deploy AI responsibly. By providing a framework for trusted, data-driven decision-making, these new tools can help local companies accelerate their digital transformation journeys, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain a competitive edge while ensuring full transparency and control over their data assets.
