The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has successfully concluded a multi-city roadshow across India, strengthening economic ties through a strategic partnership and a landmark startup competition. The initiative, which engaged over 200 Indian companies, underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering business collaboration under the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Strengthening Bilateral Ties Through CEPA
Led by Group CEO Ramy Jallad, the RAKEZ delegation toured Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, and New Delhi. The roadshow, organised with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), provided a platform for industrialists, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to explore global expansion opportunities. Discussions highlighted Ras Al Khaimah’s competitive industrial landscape and its potential as a launchpad for Indian enterprises seeking to access regional and international markets.
Strategic MoU with FICCI
A major milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RAKEZ and FICCI in New Delhi. The agreement, formalised by Jallad and FICCI Senior Advisor Manab Majumdar, outlines a framework for cooperation to enhance economic and commercial relations. The partnership aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, organise joint business events, and encourage delegation visits, creating new avenues for Indian companies to leverage the CEPA framework.
Championing Cross-Border Innovation
The roadshow culminated in the grand finale of the inaugural UAE–India Start-up Series. This flagship initiative was designed to identify and support high-potential Indian startups. Among the winners was Bioreform, a Hyderabad-based sustainable packaging company developing biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastics. As a winner, Bioreform will receive direct support from RAKEZ to scale its operations and accelerate its international growth from Ras Al Khaimah.
Reflecting on the tour, Ramy Jallad said, “India continues to foster one of the world’s most vibrant business environments, and our interactions across Pune, Chennai, and New Delhi reaffirm the strong appetite among Indian companies to expand into the UAE. Ras Al Khaimah offers them a dynamic and cost-effective base for growth, and our strengthened partnership with FICCI and the successful completion of the UAE–India Start-up Series demonstrate our collective commitment to fostering innovation, industry development, and long-term collaboration under CEPA.”
