Raya Holding‘s subsidiary, Raya Contact Center Services (RCX), has announced a partnership with venture capital firm Opner to launch “Raya FutureTECH,” a new accelerator program. The initiative is designed to support early-stage startups that are developing advanced technological solutions and innovative ideas to enhance the customer experience across various industries.
Accelerating Customer Experience Innovation
The Raya FutureTECH accelerator focuses on tech startups that have already developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), ensuring that participating companies have an initial understanding of market needs and a clear problem they are aiming to solve. The program aims to empower entrepreneurs to validate their solutions, assess product-market fit, and align their innovations with Raya’s corporate strategy. Applications for the inaugural cohort were open until July 31, 2021.
Strategic Support And Investment
Participating startups are eligible for potential funding of up to EGP 1 million per company through direct investment from both Raya and Opner. Beyond capital, the program provides invaluable resources, including access to Raya’s extensive research and data ecosystem. Opner will contribute its venture-building expertise through technology support, workshops on growth planning, and individual coaching for founders delivered by its specialized team. Furthermore, Raya has dedicated an internal team to manage the accelerator, fostering direct collaboration between its industry experts and the startup founders.
A Vision For Digital Transformation
The launch aligns with Raya’s broader strategic vision to champion digital transformation within its operations and the wider market.
Ahmed Refky, CEO of Raya Contact Center Services, stated, “The new business accelerator is launched in parallel with Raya’s new vision, which is directed towards encouraging and enabling more digital transformation. We started with the comprehensive development of our internal operations and increasing the share of technology in them, and now we are completing this journey by launching the accelerator that enables support for the tech startup market and stimulates innovation.”
Mohamed Nazir, Head of Startup Investment at Raya Holding, added, “The program aims to enable the creation of a launchpad for early-stage tech startups in the Egyptian market, in addition to enabling founders and entrepreneurs to grow and support their businesses based on the expertise of the accelerator’s partners in the fields of customer experience, represented by Raya, and company-building, provided by Opner.”
Fostering Corporate-Startup Synergy
The collaboration highlights a growing trend of corporate venture-building in the region, designed to bridge the gap between established industry leaders and agile startups.
“We are pleased to cooperate with Raya Contact Center Services to launch the ambitious programs of this new accelerator and hope that it will contribute to supporting models of companies with innovative and new ideas in the technology sector,” said Ahmed El Sherif, CEO of Opner. He noted that the partnership is part of Opner’s “Innovation” program, which combines the expertise of major corporations with Opner’s technical and investment capabilities to co-invest in and build a new generation of tech companies.
