Quick Facts

  • Event: 5th edition of “The Investor” conferences
  • Date & Location: May 5, 2026, in Cairo
  • Focus: Bridging government, finance, and real estate sectors

A Confluence of Government and Industry

The conference aims to bring together key stakeholders from government, real estate, and financial institutions to support Egypt’s urban expansion goals. Participation is expected from several ministries, including Housing, Finance, and Investment, alongside major entities like the New Urban Communities Authority, the Financial Regulatory Authority, and the Administrative Capital Company.

Eng. Tarek Shoukry, Chairman of the Real Estate Development Chamber and Secretary-General of the conference, highlighted the strength of the local market. “The Egyptian market is strong and characterized by real demand driven by a population exceeding 110 million and around 900,000 marriages annually,” he stated. Shoukry noted that the presence of approximately 15,500 real estate developers reflects the scale of activity in the sector.

He also emphasized that real estate investment in Egypt offers the highest returns compared to nearly 20 other competing countries, a position strengthened by over half a trillion dollars spent on national infrastructure in the last decade.

Infrastructure and Economic Impact

Eng. Ahmed Sabour, Chairman of Al Ahly Sabbour Company and also a Secretary-General of the conference, pointed to the real estate sector’s significant economic contribution. He said the sector is a fundamental pillar of the Egyptian economy, accounting for 20% of the national income and providing 6 million jobs while supporting around 100 related industries.

“The state has achieved a major leap in infrastructure, including the construction of about 7,000 kilometers of roads, paving the way for developers to expand their work,” Sabour explained. He also noted the development of 37 new cities, highlighting the need to re-market Egypt’s investment opportunities given its political stability and competitive property prices.

Addressing Sector Challenges

Ahmed Abu Riya, Chairman of Black Diamond, confirmed that the upcoming conference will build on the success of previous editions. The core objective remains to support the investment climate, particularly in the real estate sector, which he described as a key driver of the national economy.

Abu Riya added that while government policies have enhanced the business environment, challenges persist. “These challenges will be discussed during the conference sessions, which aim to develop recommendations and present them to officials, as has been done in previous editions,” he concluded.
