Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has announced two major initiatives to bolster the Kingdom’s cybersecurity landscape, launching the third edition of its Cybersecurity Accelerator and a new program to empower Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The announcements were made during the Biban 25 forum, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to developing a robust and innovative local tech ecosystem in line with Vision 2030.
Driving Innovation with the Cybersecurity Accelerator
The NCA has officially opened applications for the third cohort of its Cybersecurity Accelerator, inviting local entrepreneurs and startups to participate. The program is designed to foster a thriving entrepreneurial environment, stimulate investment in the sector, and support the growth of domestic cybersecurity companies.
In collaboration with its technical arm, the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), the accelerator will provide participating startups with intensive guidance and mentorship from a select group of local and global experts. The program includes financial support, specialized workshops, and strategic field visits to explore successful international entrepreneurship models. Participants will also receive training on modern marketing strategies and techniques for attracting customers and investors.
Empowering SMEs Against Cyber Threats
In a parallel move, the NCA, in partnership with SITE and the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at), has launched the “SME Cybersecurity Empowerment Initiative.” This program aims to significantly enhance the cyber-readiness of over 500 SMEs across the Kingdom.
The initiative will provide continuous monitoring through vulnerability scanning and management solutions to protect the digital assets of participating enterprises. By offering periodic reports, advanced analysis, and actionable recommendations, the program empowers SMEs to effectively protect their systems and data from evolving cyber risks, ensuring business continuity and contributing to national cybersecurity.
A Strategic Push for Vision 2030
Both initiatives are central to the NCA’s strategic goals of stimulating the local cybersecurity industry and creating a competitive environment that attracts both domestic and international investment. By empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening the defenses of the SME sector—a key pillar of the economy—these programs directly contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and building a secure and trusted Saudi cyberspace that enables growth and prosperity.
