The 2025 Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) has announced that 250 innovative projects from 81 countries have qualified for its next stage, an intensive virtual training bootcamp. The global competition, which saw a record number of over 10,000 applications from 169 countries this year, will culminate in a grand finale hosted in Riyadh. The event is organized by Saudi Arabia’s Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), in partnership with the Misk Foundation and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN).

Global Representation and Diverse Sectors

The qualified startups showcase a dynamic and diverse global innovation landscape. The cohort is split across different growth phases, with 9% in the idea stage, 51% in the early stage, and 40% in the growth stage. Notably, the competition has attracted a significant number of deep-tech ventures, with space-tech projects alone accounting for 12% of the qualified entries, reflecting a growing trend in this advanced sector.

An Intensive Virtual Bootcamp

Before heading to the finals, the 250 qualifying startups will participate in a rigorous three-day virtual bootcamp. This phase is organized in collaboration with Spain’s Esade Ramon Llull University, which is highly ranked for its entrepreneurial support programs. The bootcamp includes theoretical and practical sessions, 20 specialized workshops, and direct networking opportunities with more than five global investors and nine key entities from the Saudi entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Riyadh As A Global Entrepreneurship Hub

The EWC finals will be held in Riyadh as part of the “Biban” forum, further cementing the Kingdom’s position as a burgeoning global center for entrepreneurship and innovation. The competition offers more than $1.5 million in prizes and provides an unparalleled platform for startups to access international investment opportunities and gain global exposure. The involvement of Monsha’at and the Misk Foundation underscores Saudi Arabia’s strategic commitment to nurturing a vibrant SME sector and supporting entrepreneurial talent worldwide.
