Chinese multinational technology company Lenovo has announced its plans to establish a new regional headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh and has appointed a new executive leadership team for its Saudi Arabian operations. The move is a significant step in the company’s commitment to aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals.
Key Highlights
Lenovo’s expansion represents a deep and multi-faceted investment in the Kingdom:
- $10 Billion: The projected contribution to Saudi Arabia’s non-oil GDP by 2030 from Lenovo’s various initiatives.
- 200,000 sqm: The size of the new advanced manufacturing facility Lenovo is building in Riyadh in partnership with ALAT.
- Strategic Location: The new RHQ will be in Riyadh’s Al Majdoul Tower, a hub for several PIF entities, placing Lenovo at the center of innovation.
A Strategic Hub for Regional Growth
The new regional headquarters in Riyadh is a cornerstone of Lenovo’s broader strategy for the Middle East. The expansion will include significant investments in a flagship retail space, a VIP customer center, R&D, and strategic partnerships across Saudi Arabia. This will strengthen the company’s regional footprint and enhance its ability to serve customers and partners.
Deepening Partnership with ALAT and Local Manufacturing
This announcement follows Lenovo’s recent groundbreaking collaboration with ALAT, a company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). As part of that partnership, the two companies are constructing a massive 200,000-square-meter advanced manufacturing facility in Riyadh.
“Through our strategic partnership with ALAT and investment in advanced manufacturing, we are proud to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by supporting industrial diversification, accelerating digital transformation, and enabling sustainable economic growth,” said Matt Dobrodziej, Senior Vice President & President, Lenovo EMEA.
New Leadership Team Appointed
To lead its expanded operations, Lenovo has appointed a new executive team. Lawrence Yu has been named Head of the Regional Headquarters, Giovanni Di Filippo will serve as Vice President & General Manager for Lenovo Saudi Arabia, and Zoran Radumilo has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Lenovo Saudi Arabia.
