Keeta, a technology-driven delivery platform backed by Meituan, has released its 2025 Year-in-Review, offering a detailed look into how consumers across Saudi Arabia engaged with food delivery services. The report highlights significant growth, user savings, and distinct ordering patterns, painting a vivid picture of the Kingdom’s evolving digital economy.

A Year of Scale and Savings

Throughout 2025, Keeta solidified its presence across the Kingdom, expanding its operations to 23 cities. This growth was powered by a robust network of over 50,000 restaurant partners and a fleet of more than 38,000 riders.

The platform processed over 150 million orders in Saudi Arabia during the year, demonstrating significant market penetration. A key highlight of the report was the value delivered to consumers; the average user saved more than 400 SAR in 2025, with one user achieving a remarkable total saving of 41,805 SAR. The efficiency of its delivery network was also notable, with riders collectively covering a distance of over one billion kilometers since the platform’s launch.

Unpacking Saudi’s Digital Dining Habits

The data reveals clear preferences in the Saudi market. Fast food emerged as the most ordered cuisine nationwide, closely followed by traditional Arabic dishes. The undisputed champion of individual food items was the burger.

Consumer ordering habits also showed distinct weekly patterns, with Fridays consistently recording the highest order volumes, followed by Thursdays. Dinner time proved to be the peak ordering period. The report also found that the average basket size per order was 53 SAR. User engagement was high, with one customer placing orders for 345 consecutive days.

Ordering Patterns During Ramadan and Eid

The review provided specific insights into consumer behavior during key cultural periods. During Ramadan, ordering times shifted to align with new daily routines. The most popular dishes during the holy month were French fries, Shawayah, and Arabic shawarma. The single busiest day of the year was March 29th, which saw 315,000 orders placed on the platform.

During Eid al-Adha, shawarma claimed the top spot as the most ordered item. The cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam showed the highest activity during Eid periods, while Al Kharj, Al Ahsa, and Madinah were highlighted as cities with notable growth throughout the year. The platform also showcased its logistical capabilities during Hajj, recording a delivery to the Haram completed in just 12 minutes.
