Sharjah Digital Department Taps Dell Technologies to Fast-Track AI in Government Services

The Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dell Technologies to introduce a wide-ranging program designed to build artificial intelligence capabilities within the emirate’s government. The initiative aims to equip public sector entities with the tools and knowledge to adopt advanced technologies, ultimately improving government services and operations across Sharjah.

Upskilling the Public Sector for an AI-Powered Future

Under the agreement, a comprehensive program will be rolled out featuring hands-on training and specialized workshops. The training targets a broad audience, from senior and mid-level government executives to developers and professionals in sectors like culture, arts, and agriculture.

The core objective is to empower government departments to develop practical AI use cases within their own workflows. This approach is expected to accelerate the adoption of AI, transforming it into a functional tool for boosting operational efficiency and refining service delivery. The initiative also focuses on preparing the government workforce for rapid technological changes, paving the way for more proactive and efficient public services.

A Strategic Step in Sharjah’s Digital Roadmap

H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department, described the agreement as a significant move in the emirate’s digital journey.

“We do not view AI merely as a technological tool, but as a key driver for redesigning government operations in Sharjah,” he stated. “Through this collaboration, we aim to build sustainable institutional capabilities that enable government entities to leverage AI in developing a more efficient and innovative integrated service ecosystem that enhances quality of life.”

Al Qasimi added that the initiative is a key part of implementing the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028, designed to boost government readiness for AI and strengthen data integration.

Dell Brings Global Expertise to Sharjah’s Vision

The partnership allows Sharjah to draw on Dell’s international experience in digital transformation. Walid Yehia, Managing Director of Gulf Dell Technologies, commented on the collaboration.
