The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) is making a significant move to bolster the UAE’s creative economy with its new hub, BASE39. The initiative recently hosted its inaugural Creative Industry Gathering, bringing together a crowd of professionals, industry leaders, and artists to its Sharjah-based facilities.

Fostering a Community Without Silos
Held under the theme “No Silos. No Borders. Only Shared Language”, the event served as a launchpad for what SPARK intends to be a regular meeting point for the creative sector. The gathering included an open-floor dialogue, artistic performances, and guided tours of the BASE39 facilities, showcasing the project’s vision for a collaborative creative environment.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, commented on the event’s turnout. “This strong and diverse turnout reflects the importance of creating platforms that bring creative professionals together and enable meaningful exchange. We believe that supporting the creative industries is a key pillar in building a knowledge-based economy.”

Building Sharjah’s Creative Infrastructure
Launched in December 2025, BASE39 is designed to strengthen Sharjah’s reputation as a center for culture and innovation. The project is a strategic expansion of SPARK’s ecosystem, positioning it as a multidisciplinary platform for artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and creative tech startups.
The hub will cater to a wide range of fields, including digital arts, design, media, architecture, fashion, music, and interactive arts. The Creative Industry Gathering is set to become a recurring event, with each edition focusing on a different topic to encourage continuous dialogue and collaboration within the sector.
