The Sharqia Governorate, in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, has launched the “Tech Forward” event, a significant initiative aimed at fostering innovation and technological entrepreneurship among the region’s youth. The event seeks to support young talent in technology and digital transformation, opening new avenues for their professional development.
The launch was attended by Dr. Mona Othman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Sharqia, alongside a delegation of ministry officials, highlighting the government’s commitment to empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
Government Backing for Tech Talent
The event saw strong participation from government leadership, emphasizing a top-down approach to nurturing the local tech ecosystem. Key figures present included Dr. Ayman Abdel Maqsoud, Deputy Director for Youth, and Dr. Ahmed Hammad, Director-General for Youth.
Additionally, Brigadier General Wissam Sabry, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports for Youth Entities, and Dr. Mohamed Hassan, Assistant Minister, joined via video conference. They reiterated their full support for technology-driven initiatives that enhance the skills and capabilities of young Egyptians.
Bridging Skills and Market Needs
Dr. Othman emphasized that “Tech Forward” serves as a crucial platform for equipping young people with essential digital skills and connecting them directly with the demands of the modern job market. She noted that the Ministry is actively working to strengthen the role of youth within the national innovation framework and encourage their participation in digital transformation projects.
The Undersecretary also commended the event’s organization and the efforts of the young people behind it, stating that such events effectively showcase the energy and ability of youth to execute successful initiatives that create a positive impact on society.
