Sheba Youth Foundation Strengthens Digital Capacity for Women-Led Organizations in Taiz

3 Min Read

In a strategic effort to bolster the resilience of the Yemeni civil society sector, the Sheba Youth Foundation has completed a specialized technical training program focused on data management and digital tools. The initiative is part of the “Enhancing Social and Economic Recovery and Empowering Women-Led Civil Society Organizations in Peacebuilding” project in the Taiz Governorate. Executed in partnership with UN Women and supported by the Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), the program aims to modernize the operational foundations of local organizations navigating complex humanitarian and peacebuilding environments.

Digital Transformation for Grassroots Peacebuilders

The training program targeted four prominent local entities: the Reef Foundation for Development, Wasl for Peace Organization, JODP for Development Organization, and the Center for Strategic Studies to Support Women and Children. By focusing on institutional efficiency, the Sheba Youth Foundation shared its own hands-on experience to foster a culture of mutual learning among Yemeni partners.

The comprehensive curriculum addressed several pillars of modern organizational management:

  • Data & File Management: Practical sessions on electronic archiving, cloud storage, and advanced file management systems.
  • Operational Intelligence: Tools for streamlined data collection and analysis to support evidence-based peacebuilding.
  • Cyber Resilience: Training on digital security to protect sensitive organizational and community data.
  • Emerging Technologies: Guidance on the use of artificial intelligence in organizational settings and task/meeting management.

Empowering the Future of Yemeni Civil Society

By equipping women-led organizations with these technical competencies, the project addresses a critical gap in the Taiz Governorate’s recovery efforts. Strengthening the digital infrastructure of these NGOs ensures they can operate more securely and effectively, ultimately enhancing their ability to lead social and economic recovery initiatives. This shift toward digital maturity is viewed as a prerequisite for long-term sustainability and impactful peacebuilding within the region.
