The Startup Syria Awards, an annual event dedicated to celebrating resilience and innovation within the nation’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, has unveiled its 2025 winners. The awards honor the founders, companies, and initiatives making a tangible impact on Syrian communities both locally and globally, spotlighting a new generation of leaders who are building world-class solutions from the ground up.

This year’s winners represent the diverse strengths of the Syrian ecosystem, from global fintech and Web3 innovation to grassroots community building.

Aamir Barodi Turning Personal Hardship Into A Global Fintech Solution

Aamir Barodi, founder of nsave, was named “Entrepreneur of the Year 2025” for his groundbreaking work in financial inclusion. Barodi’s mission was born from personal trauma after witnessing his family’s savings vanish due to economic collapse and hyperinflation in Syria and Lebanon.

In response, he founded nsave in 2022 to provide a crucial lifeline for individuals in unstable economies. The platform offers users access to stable accounts in hard currencies, protecting their savings from local currency devaluation. The startup’s success has been rapid, culminating in an $18 million Series A funding round announced in 2025 and an expansion into investment products like stocks and bonds for a global user base.

Bahla Hejazi Bridging Technology and Culture For The Syrian Diaspora

Recognized as the “Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2025,” Bahla Hejazi stands at a unique intersection of technology, art, and culture. A musician and artist with deep expertise in Web3 and decentralized finance, Hejazi is breaking stereotypes about the roles Syrian entrepreneurs can play on the global stage.

She is the founder of Beti Betak, a platform designed to reimagine mobility, accommodation, and cultural connection for Syrians around the world. Hejazi’s work, which spans Syria, Europe, and the Gulf, demonstrates how Syrian talent can contribute to high-tech industries while fostering a stronger global community and shifting the international perception of Syria from one of crisis to one of creativity and innovation.

Abdul Malik Al-Muzin The Ecosystem Veteran Fostering A New Generation Of Talent

Abdul Malik Al-Muzin earned the title of “Community Enabler of the Year 2025” for his foundational impact on the Syrian tech scene. As the founder of BeeOrder, Al-Muzin did more than just build a successful company; he created what the awards committee called a “competence factory.”

BeeOrder became a training ground for Syrian technical talent, with Al-Muzin actively encouraging employees to launch their own startups, thereby planting the seeds for the country’s early-stage ecosystem. Today, he continues to act as a vital bridge, mentoring young founders and connecting the Syrian ecosystem with regional and international investor networks, sharing his invaluable experience of building successful tech companies in fragile markets.
