Syria is set to officially join the global community in celebrating entrepreneurship by hosting Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) for the first time from November 17-23, 2025. The national campaign will be led by Startup Syria, an organization dedicated to empowering a new generation of Syrian founders to rebuild and shape their country’s future.
Rebuilding Through Innovation
The initiative marks a significant milestone, aiming to place Syria back on the world’s innovation map. Fadi Bishara, Chair of Startup Syria, stated, “We are excited to bring Global Entrepreneurship Week to Syria… This will be their chance to show the world that their creativity and resilience were not shaken by years of devastation.” The campaign will focus on how entrepreneurship can fuel recovery and reconstruct communities, celebrating founders who have demonstrated remarkable perseverance through years of conflict.

Aligning with the global GEW theme “Together We Build,” the Syrian chapter will organize events and discussions centered around critical topics for the nation’s recovery. Key themes will include:
- The role of AI and technology in rebuilding key sectors
- Women and youth leadership in entrepreneurship
- Sustainable innovation and climate resilience
- Unlocking investment and access to finance
- Leveraging diaspora networks to empower local founders
