Bridging Strategy and Execution
The core responsibilities for the role involve converting high-level strategy into clear operational plans, complete with timelines and KPIs. The director will oversee the end-to-end delivery of Startup Syria’s pre-accelerators, ecosystem programs, and national platforms, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Leading a team of program managers and operations staff, the new hire will foster a culture of ownership and trust. They will be responsible for strengthening internal systems for reporting, monitoring, and compliance, clarifying roles and decision-making processes across the organization.
The Ideal Candidate Profile
Startup Syria is seeking a senior operator with 5-8 years of experience in operations, program management, or a related field within startups, accelerators, or VC firms. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong hands-on execution skills, proven experience in delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The role requires a mission-driven individual comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including founders, sponsors, government entities, and international partners. Native Arabic and fluency in English are required, with the position based in Damascus or operating in close coordination with in-country teams.
