3 Min Read

stc Bahrain, a leading digital enabler, in partnership with stc Group’s acclaimed inspireU program, has announced the selection of three Bahraini startups—Rizq, Siin, and Verrt—for the inaugural edition of its accelerator program hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The initiative aims to significantly bolster the local entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing a launchpad for promising tech ventures.

The Inaugural Cohort

Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the three companies selected to join the first inspireU cohort in Bahrain are Rizq, Siin, and Verrt. These startups were chosen from a competitive pool of eight local ventures representing diverse sectors including tourism, FinTech, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence.

A Rigorous Selection Process

The selection was conducted over a two-day evaluation event at stc Bahrain’s headquarters. The process began with an intensive workshop led by Alharith Alatawi, founder of the startup Coded, who provided participants with in-depth guidance on refining their pitches.

On the final day, the startups presented their business plans to a distinguished judging panel. The committee included prominent figures such as Her Excellency Maha Mofeez, CEO of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen); Yasser Al-Ghamdi, a leading Saudi investor and startup expert; Abdulrahman Al-Zuhair, Director of inspireU; and key representatives from stc Bahrain. The selection was based on the strength of the business models, presentation quality, and other critical criteria.

Comprehensive Support for Growth

The selected startups will receive a robust support package designed to accelerate their growth. This includes financial backing, logistical support, and strategic advisory services. A key feature of the program is intensive training led by prominent experts from Silicon Valley.

Furthermore, participants will gain access to a suite of stc products and services, dedicated mentorship, and valuable networking opportunities with companies across the stc Group. The program also facilitates participation in local and global workshops, exhibitions, and industry events.

Fostering Bahrain’s Digital Economy

Eng. Khalid Al-Osaimi, CEO of stc Bahrain, commented on the launch, stating, “Bringing the inspireU program to the Kingdom of Bahrain is a significant step towards supporting entrepreneurs and startups. We are proud of all the Bahraini participants who presented their innovative ideas and congratulate the three selected startups. The guidance they will receive from top entrepreneurs, along with financial and advisory support, will contribute to elevating the startup ecosystem and strengthening the digital economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
