The Sudanese startup ecosystem has demonstrated remarkable resilience and growth potential as 249Startups, in partnership with United Capital Bank, announced the successful conclusion of the 6th Orange Corners Sudan Demo Day. The event highlighted the strength of local enterprise, with eight winning companies collectively securing over 500 million Sudanese Pounds (SDG) in growth investment.
Vital Sectors Driving Recovery
The funding was awarded to ventures providing critical solutions in sectors essential to Sudan’s economic recovery, including renewable energy, agriculture, and healthcare. The selection follows a rigorous pitching process to the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) committee and investors, where founders showcased their sustainable growth models. Underscoring the commercial viability of these ventures, 249Startups revealed that the participating companies had already generated combined revenues exceeding 5 billion SDG in the months leading up to the event.

The eight startups selected for funding represent a diverse mix of industries focused on infrastructure and food security. The winning companies are:
- Sun Light for Solar Energy

These companies will now undergo a final due diligence and monitoring phase before the funds are disbursed to support their scaling efforts.
