Suez Canal University has organized a distinguished training program titled Start Your Own Business, which targeted 32 young beneficiaries. The initiative, held at the Mahmoud Selim School, is part of the university’s commitment to supporting and empowering youth to enter the fields of self-employment and entrepreneurship.

The university leadership emphasized the strategic importance of this program. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, stated that the university provides various training programs to help youth launch their own projects, noting that “entrepreneurship has become a fundamental pillar in building a strong and sustainable national economy”. Dr. Dina Abu Al-Maati, Vice President for Community Service, added that the program is part of the university’s community mission to qualify youth in creative thinking and the ability to turn ideas into successful projects.
A Comprehensive Curriculum for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
The program, led by Dr. Mohamed El-Baz, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, focused on the concept of strategic renewal and the various dimensions of entrepreneurship, from initiative and creativity to job creation and economic support. The training was divided into seven integrated modules:
- Shaping a Life Path: Focusing on self-discovery, market study, and SWOT analysis.
- Business Creation: Covering the basic components of a business plan, including production, marketing, and finance.
- Market Exploration: Studying consumers, competition, and economic and social factors.
- Closing the Sale: Honing skills in sales techniques and leveraging technology and social media.
- Money Management: Covering methods for measuring profitability and essential financial records.
- Unexpected Planning: Preparing alternative plans and dealing with crises flexibly.
- Scaling the Business: Covering the journey from idea and training to structuring and implementing the project.
Empowering a New Generation of Entrepreneurs
The program reflected the university’s vision to support youth and empower them with the tools for success in the labor market. It served as an integrated platform to qualify a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of competing and achieving sustainable development.
