Syria’s Yasmin Launches Digital Wallet To Connect Local Freelancers To Global Finance

2 Min Read

Yasmin, a newly launched fintech platform, has officially introduced its digital wallet designed to integrate Syrian entrepreneurs and freelancers into the international financial system. Founded in 2025, the Aleppo-based startup aims to provide a secure alternative to the traditional financial hurdles faced by Syrian professionals working with global clients.

Bridging the Gap for the Syrian Gig Economy

The platform addresses the critical need for reliable financial channels by enabling users to receive international remittances from Europe, the United States, and the Gulf region. Yasmin’s primary offering includes international dollar accounts powered by stablecoin technology, allowing freelancers to bypass local banking restrictions and access their earnings with greater speed and transparency.

Key technical features of the platform include:

  • International Dollar Accounts: Providing simplified access to global payments using digital assets.
  • Infrastructure: Leveraging technical frameworks inspired by global leaders like Stripe and supported by Coinbase technologies to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Flexible Withdrawal: Offering users within Syria the ability to withdraw funds in U.S. Dollars (USD) through secure local mechanisms.

Development Through the Thimar Program

The Yasmin team refined their product-market fit and growth strategy through participation in the Thimar program, an intensive 8-week accelerator designed to scale Syrian startups. During the program, the founders shifted from building partial solutions to developing a comprehensive vision for Syria’s emerging digital economy.

The startup is currently focused on overcoming regulatory challenges and building a sustainable network by onboarding its first cohort of ten agencies to validate the market demand for its services.
