Tunisia’s Orange Summer Challenge Spotlights Four Innovative Student Ventures in Sustainability

Orange Tunisia has concluded its annual Orange Summer Challenge, a three-month program designed to nurture and develop innovative projects from 25 talented Tunisian student entrepreneurs. The initiative aims to help participants transform their technology-focused ideas into tangible, market-ready solutions.

Fostering Innovation Through Intensive Mentorship

Throughout the program, participants received intensive guidance and support from specialized teams at the Orange Developer Center and the EL FabSpace Lac, a FabLab Solidaire supported by the Orange Tunisia Foundation. The challenge was further bolstered by a network of strategic partners, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), META, Dar Blockchain, The Hashgraph Association, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Tunisia, providing a comprehensive support system for the aspiring founders.

Winning Projects Championing Sustainability

The program culminated in a competition that recognized four standout projects for their positive impact and potential to contribute to a more sustainable future. The winning ventures are:

  • AlgaePool: A project focused on the local production of spirulina through modular units constructed from recycled shipping containers.
  • Valbio Déchets Composites: An initiative that converts plastic and agricultural waste into eco-friendly granules, filaments, and other materials for 3D printing applications.
  • Bean Back: A circular economy venture that recycles coffee grounds for use in the cosmetics, agriculture, and food industries.
  • WEDTECT – DripIn: A smart water leak detection system that utilizes Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing to optimize water resource management.
