Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of NCEMA, confirmed that the country’s national emergency systems have been fully activated, elevating operational readiness while maintaining all essential services. To manage the situation proactively, key sectors have implemented temporary adjustments. In aviation, Emirates and flydubai extended flight suspensions due to regional airspace closures, advising passengers to check official channels for updates and offering rebooking and refund options. Both airlines are coordinating with relevant authorities to manage schedules effectively.
In the education sector, the Ministry of Education and Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced a temporary shift to distance learning for all public and private schools and universities. This precautionary measure prioritizes student and staff safety, leveraging the country’s well-established remote learning infrastructure to minimize disruption to the academic calendar.
Mitigating Digital Threats
Dubai Police has issued a public warning about potential scams exploiting the current situation. Fraudsters have been reported posing as a fake “Dubai Crisis Management” department in an attempt to steal sensitive data such as UAE Pass login details and Emirates ID information. Authorities emphasized that official entities never request confidential information or verification codes via phone or text and urged residents to report suspicious activity immediately through the 901 hotline or the eCrime platform.
