Under the new guidelines, the Council has affirmed that using AI to depict national symbols or public figures without obtaining prior official approval is a clear legal violation of media content standards. Combatting Misinformation And Harmful Content
The directive also takes a strong stance against the weaponization of AI for malicious purposes. The Council warned that employing artificial intelligence to spread misinformation, incite hate speech, defame individuals, undermine their reputation, or attack societal values and principles is now classified as a media offense. Violators will be subject to the provisions of the Media Violations Regulation, which includes the imposition of fines and other administrative penalties.
