Dubai is set to host the third annual AI World Series Awards on October 8, 2026, a move that reinforces the emirate’s position as a leading global hub for artificial intelligence innovation. Organized by the Dubai-based AI for Business Institute and supported by Ecosystem Partner Dubai Silicon Oasis, the event aims to benchmark global AI innovation and promote its scalable, measurable implementation within enterprises.
From Pilots to Profitability
This year’s awards programme comes at a critical juncture as organizations worldwide shift from experimental AI pilots to enterprise-wide integration. To address this evolution, the Institute has launched the AI for Business Institute Honours, a new track designed to recognize specific, stated achievements in AI deployment with measurable business impact.
Unlike the main awards, the Honours programme does not rank winners competitively. Instead, it acknowledges each participating organization for its defined contribution, such as transforming customer experience or building sovereign AI capabilities. This dual-track system caters to increased market demand for third-party validation of AI return on investment and provides a platform for teams to gain public recognition for key milestones.
A Benchmark for Global and Regional Innovation
The AI World Series has seen significant growth, with the number of entries doubling to 138 in the last cycle. This signals a decisive move by global enterprises towards scaled and measurable AI deployment across all sectors.
The MENA region’s growing influence in the AI landscape was highlighted in 2025 when Middle Eastern participants secured nine category wins. This success underscores the region’s emergence as a center for practical innovation, backed by significant investments in digital transformation that rival traditional tech hubs. The awards’ judging process, conducted by independent experts using a certified scoring methodology, offers a robust framework for CIOs and CTOs to benchmark their progress against international peers.
Bridging the AI Execution Gap
Beyond individual success stories, the event addresses a critical challenge in the global intelligent economy: the AI execution gap. According to PwC’s 29th Global CEO Survey, while 50% of corporate strategies prioritize innovation, 56% of chief executives have yet to see tangible revenue or cost benefits from their AI investments.
This stagnation is often attributed to a lack of foundational roadmaps and risk frameworks. The AI World Series aims to close this gap by validating sovereign AI development, operational embedding, and responsible regulatory frameworks, providing a clear path for leadership to move from tactical projects to strategic, enterprise-scale deployment.
