Navigating The AI-Driven Content Boom
The forum is scheduled at a time of unprecedented growth in the integration of artificial intelligence across the global digital economy. H.E. Dr Eesa Mohammed Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai and a member of AIJRF’s Advisory Board, highlighted the timeliness of the event.
“This acceleration has significantly increased the valuations and wealth of many companies and AI developers worldwide, at a time when clear professional and ethical frameworks governing these uses remain limited,” Dr. Bastaki noted.
He also emphasized the UAE’s strategic position in the AI landscape, describing the nation as the region’s largest current investor in artificial intelligence. “These partnerships aim to adopt more advanced AI tools and technologies to serve a wide range of economic sectors, positioning the UAE as the leading destination for AI investment in the Middle East,” he added.
Confronting Misinformation And The Need For Governance
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of AIJRF, underscored how AI is reshaping the digital economy, with content at its core. “Digital content is no longer merely a supporting function of the economy. It has become a core pillar shaping how companies scale, how markets operate, how consumers make decisions, and how value is created at scale,” he explained.
Dr. Abdulzaher warned that the rapid expansion of AI-driven content, which has grown more than tenfold since before 2020, has also fueled a significant rise in misinformation. “This surge has been accompanied by a significant rise in fake content and misinformation, as well as the proliferation of AI applications designed to automate, accelerate, and amplify the production and dissemination of such content,” he said.
Forum To Explore AI’s Economic Impact And Ethical Challenges
The 6th AIJWF will address the dual nature of AI’s impact—its potential for economic growth and the complex ethical responsibilities it creates. Key themes will include AI as a driver for entrepreneurship, the governance challenges posed by the daily influx of fake content, and the need for binding, cross-border regulations.
Panel discussions are set to focus on critical topics such as:
- The acceleration of AI adoption and the global expansion of digital content.
- AI as a key engine of the global digital economy, particularly in content creation.
- Governance, ethical, and regulatory challenges associated with AI expansion.
- Combating the rapid rise of fake content and misinformation.
- Strengthening trust, transparency, and accountability across AI tools.
- Leveraging AI for social good and sustainable digital growth.
