Abu Dhabi-based investment firm 2PointZero Group has completed a landmark acquisition of a 60.8% stake in ISEM Packaging Group, a leading Italian luxury packaging manufacturer. The AED 704 million ($192 million) deal marks the firm’s strategic entry into the global packaging industry.

The transaction was executed through a combination of primary and secondary capital. UK-based private equity firm Peninsula Capital, along with other minority investors, will retain the remaining 39.2% stake in the business.

A Strategic Move Into a New Vertical

This acquisition establishes packaging as 2PointZero’s sixth consumer-focused vertical, complementing its existing portfolio of investments in sectors such as beauty and apparel. The move is driven by the packaging sector’s strong and consistent growth across multiple sub-segments, including luxury goods, pharmaceuticals, and food.

Samia Bouazza, Chief Executive of 2PointZero Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the deal. “The completion of this transaction marks an important step in advancing our global growth ambitions and establishing a scalable platform in the packaging industry,” she stated.

Bouazza also revealed plans to leverage technology to enhance ISEM’s operations, aiming to deploy artificial intelligence and digital solutions across the business to drive efficiency and innovation.

Powering ISEM’s International Expansion

Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Bologna, ISEM has a long-standing reputation for producing high-quality packaging for some of the world’s most prestigious luxury and cosmetics brands, including LVMH, Gucci, L’Oréal, and Coty. The company’s extensive industrial footprint consists of 11 manufacturing plants spanning over 100,000 square metres.

The new partnership is set to provide ISEM with the resources needed for significant international expansion.
“This investment will provide ISEM with the capital, global reach and strategic support to further accelerate its expansion,” commented Borja Prado, Founding Partner at Peninsula Capital.

Francesco Pintucci, Chief Executive of ISEM Packaging Group, added that the deal allows the company to pursue global ambitions while preserving its core focus on craftsmanship and strong client relationships. “With 2PointZero and Peninsula, ISEM has the platform to take that offer global,” he said.
