In a significant move to fortify the nation’s digital infrastructure, EDGE, the UAE’s advanced technology group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC). The landmark agreement, announced at GITEX GLOBAL 2025, establishes a formal partnership to enhance cooperation in cybersecurity and protect the country’s information assets.
A Strategic Framework for Collaboration
The MoU, signed by Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, and His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, outlines a collaborative framework aimed at strengthening the UAE’s overall cyber resilience. This partnership will focus on several key areas, including joint research and development, strategic information exchange, coordinated incident response, and comprehensive capacity-building initiatives across critical sectors. The agreement formalizes a shared commitment to proactively detect, deter, and respond to the evolving landscape of cyber threats.
Leadership on National Cyber Readiness
Both leaders emphasized the strategic importance of this public-private collaboration in safeguarding the nation’s digital future. H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti highlighted the pact’s role in securing vital systems, stating, “By joining forces with EDGE, we are reinforcing our collective ability to protect critical infrastructure and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global leader in cybersecurity. This partnership embodies our shared goal of fostering innovation, preparedness, and trust in the digital domain.”
Echoing this sentiment, Hamad Al Marar remarked on the foundational role of digital security. “Cybersecurity is a cornerstone of national security,” he said. “Our partnership with the UAE Cybersecurity Council reflects EDGE’s commitment to uniting advanced technologies and national expertise to build a secure, self-reliant, and resilient digital ecosystem.”
Integrating Industry and Government Efforts
This collaboration marks a pivotal step in integrating government and industry efforts to advance national cyber readiness. It underscores a dedicated push to promote technological innovation, raise cyber awareness, and support the UAE’s ambitious vision of establishing one of the world’s most secure and advanced digital economies. By combining the council’s strategic oversight with EDGE’s technological capabilities, the partnership is set to create a more robust defense against sophisticated cyber threats.
