UAE’s EDNAS Launches Nation’s First AI Literacy Curriculum For Schools

3 Min Read

In a significant step towards integrating artificial intelligence into mainstream education, UAE-based EdTech company EDNAS has launched the country’s first fully resourced AI literacy curriculum for schools. The programme, designed for students in Key Stage 1–3 (Years 1–9), provides teachers with complete lesson plans, activities, and resources to make AI education practical and accessible from day one.

Aligning With National AI Ambitions

The launch directly supports the UAE’s strategic goal of becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence by equipping the next generation with foundational AI skills. The curriculum was developed in collaboration with teachers and AI experts and is benchmarked against international standards, including the upcoming PISA 2029 assessments.

“The UAE has set a bold vision to lead the world in AI education, and schools need practical ways to bring that vision to life,” said Liam Stewart, Managing Director of EDNAS. “EDNAS changes that by giving teachers the tools and confidence to prepare a generation ready not just to use AI, but to understand and shape it. And we’re proud to be a UAE-born solution, created here to meet the needs of teachers and students across the region.”

A Phased Regional Rollout

Initial pilot programmes for the curriculum are already underway at Haileybury Astana, part of the renowned British Haileybury school network. This will be followed by a wider rollout across the UAE and subsequent regional expansion. The implementation is structured in phases:

  • 2025: Classroom-ready content for Key Stage 1–3 becomes available.
  • 2026: CPD-accredited teacher training will be introduced to build long-term expertise.
  • 2027: Accreditation services will be offered to help schools validate their AI education programmes.

To ensure broad accessibility, Arabic-language resources are planned for introduction in the second year of the rollout.

Practical Tools for Modern Education

The core objective of the EDNAS curriculum is to simplify the delivery of AI education. By providing trusted, ready-to-use tools for educators, the programme aims to foster critical thinking, ethical awareness, and practical skills in students, preparing them to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world.
