The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is showcasing its latest advancements in artificial intelligence and digital transformation at the 45th edition of GITEX Global 2025. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 13-17, provides a global stage for the authority to present its future-ready vision and innovative projects aimed at enhancing the UAE’s tax ecosystem.
A Vision for Digital Government
H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the FTA, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “Our participation at GITEX Global, the world’s largest technology event, represents an important opportunity to explore the latest international technological advancements in the tax sector and to leverage them.” He highlighted that these efforts align with the UAE Government Strategy to transition all services into smart, seamless, and proactive digital solutions, ultimately improving operational efficiency, accelerating procedures, and ensuring the highest levels of data security.
Five Key AI-Driven Initiatives
At its stand, the FTA is highlighting five core AI-driven tax initiatives designed to modernize its operations and services. These projects demonstrate a clear commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into the nation’s tax framework.
The key initiatives include:
- AI-Powered Data Analysis: Leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze data and support tax compliance efforts.
- FTAgpt: An internal, generative AI-powered search engine designed as an instant chat tool to answer tax-related inquiries for FTA employees.
- Automated Clarification Requests: The use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology to automate and streamline the process of handling clarification requests.
- Enhanced Virtual Assistant TARA: Presenting the latest updates to the virtual assistant TARA, which uses AI to provide direct answers to public queries on tax procedures and legislation.
- AI Strategy Proof of Concept: Showcasing the Proof of Concept for the Authority’s comprehensive and overarching AI strategy.
Streamlining Services with Zero Bureaucracy
The FTA is also detailing its progress in the second phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Digital Programme. This national initiative focuses on eliminating unnecessary procedures, reducing service completion times, and introducing further facilitations for taxpayers. These efforts are part of a broader push to position the UAE as a global leader in government operations and enhance its competitiveness across all sectors.

The Federal Tax Authority was established by Federal Decree-Law No. 13 of 2016 to help diversify the national economy and increase non-oil revenues in the UAE.
