UAE’s Kerno Partners With AMD For Made in the Emirates AI Infrastructure

4 Min Read

Kerno, a UAE-based enterprise infrastructure provider, has announced a strategic collaboration with global semiconductor giant AMD to accelerate the development and delivery of AI and cloud infrastructure across GCC markets, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This partnership is centered around a “Made in the Emirates” initiative, which will see the two companies co-develop advanced, AMD-based enterprise solutions within the UAE.

A Local Approach to High-Performance Computing

The collaboration will see Kerno co-develop and validate enterprise AI and cloud solutions built on AMD’s high-performance technology stack, including AMD Instinct™ AI Accelerators, AMD EPYC™ CPUs, and the AMD ROCm™ open software platform. As a designated regional OEM/ODM partner, Kerno will gain early access to AMD’s product roadmap and sales enablement tools, allowing it to engineer solutions specifically tailored for the region’s needs.

Bolstering the UAE’s Tech Ecosystem

“The ‘Made in the Emirates’ initiative reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the UAE’s position as a hub for advanced computing and AI infrastructure,” said Christopher Caswell, Co-founder & CEO of Kerno. “By combining high-performance platforms with Kerno’s regional engineering and manufacturing expertise, we are creating enterprise solutions designed, built, and supported in the Emirates — empowering governments and businesses across the GCC to innovate with confidence.”

Furthering this commitment, the agreement includes plans to establish a joint testing and integration lab in the UAE and explore the co-establishment of a regional AI competency center for strategic customer projects.

Driving Regional Growth and Innovation

This partnership signals a significant step towards enhancing the region’s technological sovereignty and self-sufficiency. By localizing the design and manufacturing of critical digital infrastructure, the initiative aims to provide robust and scalable solutions that support national development goals. Zaid Ghattas, General Manager for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa at AMD, stated, “This collaboration extends our local presence in the UAE and enhances our ability to deliver enterprise AI and cloud solutions, support our local customers, and drive future growth.”
