In a significant move to advance the UAE’s technological sovereignty, Dubai-based Kerno Enterprises FZE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global tech leader Intel Corporation. The collaboration aims to jointly develop high-performance AI, universal, and edge computing solutions tailored for customers across the UAE and the broader Middle East, directly supporting the nation’s “Made in the Emirates” initiative.
A Strategic Push for Sovereign Tech
The partnership between Kerno and Intel focuses on co-developing enterprise-class server systems powered by Intel technologies. These systems will be optimized for mission-critical workloads in government, enterprise, and AI-driven sectors, bolstering the region’s digital infrastructure with locally built and supported hardware. This alliance represents a shared vision for a secure and powerful technology ecosystem built within the Emirates.
“This collaboration with Intel reflects our shared goal of enabling secure, high-performance infrastructure built in the UAE,” stated Christopher Caswell, CEO of Kerno Enterprises. “We are committed to creating digital platforms that align with the UAE’s technological and economic growth ambitions — designed, built, and supported right here in the Emirates.”
Taha Khalifa, General Manager at Intel Corporation, echoed this sentiment, adding, “This collaboration with Kerno underscores Intel’s focus on advancing local innovation through high-efficiency, scalable computing solutions. Through this cooperation, we’re redefining how technology ecosystems evolve in the Middle East.”
First-of-its-Kind Manufacturing Hub in Dubai
At the heart of this collaboration is Kerno’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Dubai Silicon Oasis. As the first of its kind in the UAE and the Gulf region, the plant has the capacity to produce 60,000 servers annually. By leveraging advanced surface-mount (SMT) and automated assembly technologies, Kerno aims to significantly reduce technology delivery times for regional clients while ensuring high-quality local production.
Unveiling at GITEX GLOBAL 2025
Kerno officially announced its cooperation with Intel during the GITEX GLOBAL 2025 conference. The local manufacturer used the prominent platform to showcase its secure AI, universal, and edge servers to key regional stakeholders, demonstrating its advanced manufacturing capabilities and solidifying its position as a key player in the region’s evolving tech landscape.
