UAE’s Space42 Signs Strategic MoU with Angola on Advanced Technology Collaboration

2 Min Read

UAE-based AI and space technology company Space42 has signed a comprehensive five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Angola’s Military Intelligence and Security Service (SISM). The strategic partnership covers advanced technology collaboration across multiple domains, including satellite communications, Earth observation, and artificial intelligence.

Key Highlights

The five-year agreement establishes a broad framework for technological cooperation:

  • 5-Year Partnership: The duration of the strategic agreement.
  • 7 Priority Areas: The collaboration will cover seven key domains, including satellite communications, Earth observation, AI, and national security drones.
  • 100% Coverage: Space42 already provides 100% satellite broadband coverage of Angola through its YahClick service.

A Comprehensive Partnership Across Multiple Domains

The agreement encompasses a wide range of advanced technologies. Both parties will collaborate on developing and implementing solutions across seven priority areas: satellite communications, Earth observation, artificial intelligence, High-Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS), national security drones, border control solutions, and the development of a command and control center.

Building on a Long-Standing Relationship

The MoU is a natural progression of Space42’s existing strong operational presence in Angola. The company already provides 100% coverage of the country with its YahClick satellite broadband service, an infrastructure foundation that will be significantly enhanced by the upcoming, advanced Thuraya-4 satellite system.

“After years of serving the Angolan people through our satellite services, this MoU represents a natural evolution of our commitment to the country,” said Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Commercial Officer of Space42. “This collaboration builds on our longstanding relationship and represents an opportunity to create something truly meaningful together.”

A Commitment to Angola’s Future

The agreement was the direct result of recent high-level meetings in the UAE between General João Pereira Massano, head of Angola’s SISM, and Space42’s executive team. During these sessions, Space42 showcased its advanced capabilities in space-based intelligence and AI-powered solutions, which paved the way for the deeper collaboration now formalized through this MoU.
