University College of Bahrain Forges Alliance With SMEs Society To Nurture Future Founders

The University College of Bahrain (UCB) has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Bahrain Society for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in a strategic move to bolster the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The partnership aims to provide students with direct exposure to the business world and cultivate a new generation of innovators.
The memorandum of understanding was officially signed by Dr. Rana Sawaya, President of the University College of Bahrain, and H.E. MP Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum, Chairman of the Bahrain Society for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, at the society’s headquarters.

Bridging Academia and Industry

The core objective of the agreement is to immerse students in real-world business environments. Through the society’s diverse initiatives and projects within the SME sector, UCB students will gain invaluable practical experience.
The partnership will facilitate specialized training programs and workshops designed to develop critical skills and refine professional expertise. It will also create unique opportunities for students to interact directly with established entrepreneurs and startup founders, providing them with the inspiration and network needed to pursue their own ventures.

Dr. Rana Sawaya emphasized that the collaboration is a key component of the university’s strategy to enhance students’ applied skills and align their education with the demands of the modern job market.
“This partnership is a pivotal step in supporting the university’s efforts to build a creative generation capable of launching their entrepreneurial projects with confidence and competence,” stated Dr. Sawaya. From his side, H.E. MP Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum expressed his pride in the collaboration, describing the agreement as a significant milestone in empowering Bahraini youth. He stressed its importance in preparing them to enter the workforce with a strong and competitive skill set.
