Yemen’s Ministry Of Youth And Sports Hosts Microfinance Exhibition To Boost Entrepreneurship

The Yemeni Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Youth Without Borders Organization for Development, has organized the “Microfinance Exhibition for Entrepreneurship” in Aden. The event, held under the patronage of Minister Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, is a key component of the Support for Youth Programs project funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Fostering Public-Private Sector Collaboration

During the exhibition’s opening, Khaled Mohsen Al-Khulaifi, Undersecretary of the Sports Sector at the Ministry, highlighted the event’s strategic importance. He emphasized its goal of fostering coordination between government and private sectors to encourage young entrepreneurs in sustaining and expanding their ventures.

Al-Khulaifi reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to facilitating opportunities that guide youth into the labor market, stating that the Ministry remains dedicated to supporting and qualifying young people through its entrepreneurship programs.

Dr. Hassan Abdrabbo, Head of the Technical Office at the Ministry, added that such exhibitions are vital for creating a genuine partnership between the public and private sectors. He noted their role in promoting knowledge exchange, enhancing economic development, and establishing effective economic policies for financial stability and sustainable growth.

A Platform For Youth-Led Innovation

The exhibition serves as a critical platform for young business owners to connect, share insights, and gain market exposure. Saad Al-Omari, Acting Undersecretary of the Training and Rehabilitation Sector, outlined the core objectives, which include the exchange of ideas and experiences and increasing the visibility of youth-led products in the local market.

These efforts are aimed at improving the overall business environment and forging impactful partnerships between governmental bodies and the private sector. The event was attended by key stakeholders including Abdelhamid Al-Saeidi, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Alaa Ihab, a representative from the United Nations Population Fund.
