The Enactus team from Helwan International University of Technology (Enactus HITU) has achieved a major success in its first-ever participation in the Enactus Egypt 2025 National Competition. The event is the largest platform for social entrepreneurship in Egypt, bringing together university students from across the country to present their innovative projects.

In its debut appearance, the Enactus HITU team secured significant recognition:
- First Place: The team won first place in its group competition.
- Special Award: Received the Women Empowerment award from ExxonMobil.
- Debut Participation: This was the team’s first time competing in the national event.
- Winning Project: The awards were won for their innovative project, “Dayra” (دايرة).
An Innovative Solution for Electronic Waste
The team captured the judges’ attention with their project, “Dayra,” which provides practical solutions for reusing electronic waste. The project focuses on developing methods to efficiently repair and refurbish light bulbs, which helps reduce the pollution caused by their improper disposal. The initiative also aims to raise community awareness about the health and environmental risks of such practices.
Strong University Support and Vision
The team’s participation was held under the patronage of Dr. Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan International University of Technology, who stated that the team’s success is “living proof of the innovative capabilities of the youth in technological universities”. Dr. Ahmed Bendary, the university’s academic supervisor, expressed his pride in the achievement, noting that the “Dayra” project was not just a theoretical idea but a practical initiative to confront a major environmental challenge. The university leadership affirmed their continued full support for students to pursue excellence and create new projects with tangible community impact.
