QatarDebate Center, a member of the Qatar Foundation, has launched the second session of its Qatar Dialogues series under the theme: “From Dream to Reality: The Journey of Entrepreneurs in Qatar”. The event brought together those interested in entrepreneurship and innovation to highlight the challenges and success stories that reflect the contributions of entrepreneurs to the national economy.
Event Overview and Mission
The Qatar Dialogues series is an initiative by QatarDebate to foster rich discussions on key topics relevant to the nation’s development. This second session focused on the entrepreneurial journey in Qatar, providing a platform for inspirational ideas and highlighting the success stories that are helping to build the future of the national economy. Abdulrahman Al-Subaie, Director of Programs at QatarDebate Center, affirmed that “investing in youth is an investment in the future of Qatar, as they are the compass of innovation and the leaders of transformation”.
Featuring Qatar’s Prominent Entrepreneurs
The session was moderated by Dana Al-Neama, Co-founder of “Nazl” for interior design, and featured a number of prominent Qatari entrepreneurs who shared their stories:
- Maryam Al-Khalaf, founder of the jewelry brand “Jema”, who spoke about how jewelry can express identity and culture.
- Hamda Al-Hitmi, founder of the “Ahali Al-Tawahod” platform, who emphasized that entrepreneurial projects aim not just for profit but also to build awareness and inclusive spaces.
- Ahmed Al-Sumaiti, co-founder of “Al-Vetery” and founder of “Mechanic”, who discussed how combining engineering and entrepreneurship opens the door for practical innovations.
- Mohammed Al-Dulaimi, founder of the “SkipCash” and “PayLater” platforms, who highlighted that digital transformation has become a necessity for business growth.
- Abdullah Al-Mana, founder of a local coffee shop chain, who spoke on how dreams can be turned into impactful global brands.
An Inspiring Roadmap for Aspiring Founders
The session concluded with an inspiring roadmap for new entrepreneurs. The speakers recommended believing in the idea, starting with clear, small steps, understanding local market needs, and building a strong professional network. They stressed that failure is an essential part of the journey to success, which is achieved by focusing on quality and building a long-term project.
