Saudi University Aims To Convert Research Into Startups Through New Exhibition

Shaqra University has inaugurated its “Research Posters and Innovations 25” exhibition, an initiative designed to showcase academic research and foster a direct path towards commercialization and entrepreneurship. The event, launched by the university’s president, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Saif, provides a platform for faculty and students to present their scientific and innovative projects.

Held under the theme “From Research Leadership to Innovating the Future,” the exhibition is organized by the university’s Deanship of Research and Entrepreneurship. The event features research posters and early-stage prototypes that offer innovative solutions across various sectors. The deanship’s stated goal is to facilitate the transfer of these technologies to the market, support the establishment of new startups, and activate strategic partnerships with commercial and industrial entities.

Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Raouji, Dean of Research and Entrepreneurship, stated that the initiative is a core part of the university’s strategy to support the Kingdom’s transition towards a knowledge-based economy.
