The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, has concluded a successful participation in the ‘Try Everything 2025’ startup festival in Seoul. The initiative aimed to showcase the competitive advantages of Dubai’s digital ecosystem and create high-potential partnerships for local and international tech companies, further strengthening the emirate’s position as a global technology hub.
Fostering International Connections
During the festival, the Chamber’s delegation engaged in 86 bilateral business meetings with a diverse range of South Korean startups, venture capital funds, and key innovation ecosystem partners. A primary focus of these discussions was highlighting the opportunities within Dubai’s tech sectors and showcasing flagship initiatives like ‘Business in Dubai.’ This digital platform is designed to streamline the process for international companies looking to establish or expand their operations in the emirate, offering access to essential services and a business matchmaking feature to connect them with the right partners and investors.
Championing Dubai-Based Startups
A key part of the mission was supporting the growth of the local ecosystem. The Chamber facilitated the participation of seven Dubai-based digital startups at the event, providing them with a platform for international exposure. The cohort, which included Procurehub, Pharmedic, Seafood Souq, Ketrone, Supy, Circa Biotech, and One Loyalty, collectively held 140 business meetings with potential partners and investors, exploring avenues for growth and international expansion from their Dubai headquarters.
Paving the Way for Expand North Star
The Chamber also used the event to promote Expand North Star 2025, the world’s largest startup and investor event hosted in Dubai. Highlighting the event’s growing significance for Asian tech firms, the delegation noted a 111% increase in participation from South Korean companies in the 2024 edition compared to the previous year. This substantial growth underscores Expand North Star’s role as a critical gateway for startups looking to attract investment, forge partnerships, and expand their global footprint from Dubai.
