The 14th annual Oman Health Exhibition has officially opened in Muscat, bringing together senior officials, healthcare leaders, and international innovators to explore the future of the sector. Organized by the Ministry of Health, this year’s event places a strong emphasis on the transformative potential of digital health, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and telemedicine.
AI Takes Center Stage
The critical role of technology in modernizing healthcare was the central theme of the keynote address, delivered by Dr. Nayyar Razvi, Chairman of Canada’s Emrana Health. Dr. Razvi highlighted how AI-guided patient intake questionnaires could streamline physician workflows by as much as 40%, allowing for more efficient and thorough patient histories. He emphasized that AI should be viewed as a powerful support tool that enhances the capabilities of doctors, who will always remain responsible for ultimate treatment decisions.
Expanding Telemedicine and Remote Care
In line with the event’s digital focus, Emrana Health announced plans to expand its telemedicine services within Oman. The initiative will include structured home visits and data-driven remote consultations, a model designed to overcome geographic barriers and improve healthcare access and efficiency across the Sultanate. The event featured numerous demonstrations of innovative telemedicine platforms, robotics, and drone applications in healthcare.
A Growing Hub for Medical Services
The exhibition underscored Oman’s growing prominence as a regional healthcare hub. Participation in the “Treat in Oman Pavilion” saw a 30% increase, featuring a wide range of local and regional providers promoting advanced medical services. The event also attracted a significant international presence, with hospitals from Canada, Egypt, India, Iran, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and more showcasing their specialities in fields ranging from cardiology and oncology to fertility and aesthetics.
