The NYUAD Entrepreneurship School, a key platform powered by Abu Dhabi-based global accelerator startAD, has officially launched its programming for the new academic year. The initiative is designed to equip New York University Abu Dhabi students, faculty, and staff with the essential mindset, skills, and support needed to transform innovative ideas into impactful, real-world ventures.
Launching a New Era of Innovation
The year began with a dynamic information session where members of the NYUAD community engaged directly with the school’s team from startAD and its partners at Violet Ventures. The session highlighted the program’s role as a launchpad for experimentation, learning, and leadership. It aims to cultivate strong entrepreneurial judgment, empowering participants to navigate the inherent uncertainties of the startup world and build resilient businesses.
Insights from the Entrepreneurial Frontline
The first workshop, titled “Understanding the Entrepreneurial Journey,” was led by Ashwin Joshi, Director at startAD. Participants were guided through the critical stages of venture building, from ideation to execution. The session was followed by a fireside chat with Adnan Dekedek, a notable NYUAD alumnus, Associate Manager at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and Co-Founder of Upstart Bar. Dekedek shared valuable insights from his own journey, discussing the challenges of balancing student life with entrepreneurship, the strategies for scaling a venture, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in shaping modern startups.
