Bahrain’s Zain Great Idea Program to Send One Startup to Silicon Valley

2 Min Read

Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications and technology innovation firm in the Kingdom, has successfully concluded the first phase of its flagship technology accelerator, Zain Great Idea (ZGI). Launched for the first time in Bahrain, the program is set to provide a local startup with invaluable global exposure through a transformative trip to Silicon Valley.

The Intensive Boot Camp

The program’s inaugural phase was an intensive boot camp held at the Zain Bahrain Tower from September 24 to October 9. The boot camp attracted a significant number of early-stage Bahraini entrepreneurs, offering them a comprehensive support system that included mentorship, resources, and expert guidance to refine their business models and sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. Participants engaged in numerous technical workshops, lectures, and one-on-one mentorship sessions, gaining critical insights into business strategy, innovation, and effective leadership.

The Road to Silicon Valley

Having completed the foundational stage, the participating entrepreneurs are now prepared to develop compelling investor pitches and confidently present their solutions. The next stage of the program is “Super Tuesday,” scheduled for October 14, where founders will present their ideas to a judging panel. The committee will evaluate the pitches based on key criteria such as innovation and market viability.

Following the evaluations, one standout startup will be selected for the program’s grand prize: a two-week, all-expenses-paid journey to Silicon Valley, California. This unique opportunity will allow the winning team to gain world-class insights, receive mentorship from global experts, and immerse themselves in one of the world’s most prominent entrepreneurial ecosystems.
