Emirati entrepreneurs are making a significant mark at Expand North Star 2025, demonstrating a wave of innovative digital solutions aimed at transforming various sectors. The event, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy at Dubai Harbour, is serving as a powerful platform to propel local founders onto the global stage.

A Hub For Emirati Innovation

The “Emirati Entrepreneurs” showcase at the event has been a focal point, highlighting a diverse range of digital ventures leveraging advanced technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence. These projects reflect the ambitious vision of the UAE’s new generation of innovators, presenting tangible solutions to a wide array of challenges and services. The showcased business models underscore a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a readiness to compete on both a regional and global scale.

From Loyalty To Life-Saving Tech

Among the standout ventures is Be Loyal, a startup founded by Mohamed Al Ketbi that provides digital loyalty programs for small and medium-sized enterprises. “Expand North Star is an ideal platform for us to meet investors and partners who can help us expand our digital loyalty solutions across the GCC and Europe,” said Al Ketbi.

Addressing a critical workplace safety issue, Wadima Al Naqbi, co-founder of Numir, presented a unique solar-powered wristband designed to monitor dehydration in construction workers during extreme heat. “The event offers a vital opportunity to connect with major institutions and government bodies to deploy this technology. We aim to gather feedback and connect with potential investors to enhance worker well-being,” Al Naqbi stated.

Tackling Sustainability Challenges

A strong theme of sustainability was present among the Emirati startups. Tuqa Al Abdouli, founder of Surrmiz, introduced a project designed to turn flood risks into a sustainable resource by intelligently managing and recycling rainwater for irrigation. “We are here to connect with government entities and potential partners to help us scale our technology locally in homes, farms, and buildings, before we take it global,” she explained.

Similarly, Mohammed Al Zaabi, co-founder of SOLARA, is using the event as a launchpad for his platform, which simplifies the installation of residential solar energy solutions. “Our primary goal is to make solar energy accessible to every homeowner in the UAE. This event is the perfect entry point for us to gain momentum and meet global partners ahead of our official launch in January,” said Al Zaabi.

Noor Albastaki, co-founder of Gars Tech, shared her mission to empower farmers through smart biotech. “Our mission at Gars Tech is to make agriculture more efficient using smart sensor technology. This exhibition holds immense promise, and we are excited to showcase our project to the world,” she commented.
