Microsoft has announced its latest Surface for Business Copilot+ PCs for the Middle East at the ongoing Gitex Global 2025 showcase. The new lineup, which includes the Surface Laptop with 5G and the Surface Pro 12, is designed to bring powerful on-device AI capabilities and constant connectivity to enterprises across the region, particularly as they prepare for the end of Windows 10 support.

AI at the Edge for MENA Businesses

The launch marks a significant step in making artificial intelligence more accessible and functional directly on user devices. The new Surface PCs are powered by next-generation processors, including Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) and Snapdragon X Plus (8-core), specifically optimized for Copilot+ experiences. This allows for AI tasks to be processed locally, enhancing speed, privacy, and performance. The introduction of the first-ever Surface Laptop with built-in 5G connectivity addresses the growing need for an always-connected workforce.
Waseem Hashem, Go-To-Market Lead at Microsoft EMEA, stated, “With Surface for Business Copilot+ PCs, including our first 5G-enabled Surface Laptop, we are making AI truly useful at the edge, right on the device. This empowers organizations across the region to modernize securely and at scale.”

Driving the UAE’s National AI Vision

The announcement at Gitex aligns directly with the UAE’s ambitious national strategy to become a global AI leader. Initiatives like the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI are positioning the country as a hub for innovation. By introducing advanced AI-powered hardware in the region, Microsoft is supporting this vision and providing businesses with the tools needed to thrive in an AI-driven economy. The company is showcasing its concept of “agentic AI” at the event, demonstrating how autonomous AI systems can reason, plan, and collaborate with users to solve complex problems.

Enterprise-Ready Features and Management

Beyond AI and connectivity, the new Surface for Business devices are built for corporate environments. They integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Intune and the Surface Management Portal, giving IT administrators robust tools for policy control, lifecycle management, and security insights. To further simplify deployment and data retention, select models also feature removable SSDs and easily serviceable components, catering to the practical needs of large-scale enterprise rollouts.
