Insights from Morocco’s Next Generation of Tech Leaders

The panel was moderated by Badr Boussabat, President of Morocco’s 40 under 40, and featured four internationally recognized experts from the initiative’s first cohort. Their insights offered strategic guidance for founders and professionals navigating complex digital sectors:

  • FinTech and Regulation: Hafssa EL JAOUI, CFO of Yassir Morocco, emphasized the crucial role of trust and long-term stability in FinTech, noting that successful companies in the sector must work closely with regulators.
  • Cybersecurity as a Core Strategy: Marouan Bernoussi, a Cybersecurity Director, highlighted that cybersecurity is not a mere technical add-on but an essential defense strategy required to protect innovation and business integrity.
  • Vision and Social Utility: Sophia Alj, Co-founder of Chari | YC S21, shared her philosophy on success, advocating for the powerful fusion of business vision with social utility—a principle that has driven the growth of Chari, which provides e-commerce and FinTech apps for retailers in Francophone Africa.
  • Building Tech Companies in Morocco: Yassine Regragui, a FinTech Leader and Lecturer, drew from his unique global experience, including his time as the first foreigner to work at Alipay in China, to reveal the key success factors for scaling a technology company within Morocco.

Fostering a Collaborative Tech Ecosystem

The event served as a major networking opportunity, drawing attendance from a diverse group that included numerous Technopark startups, partners, and young talents. Startups such as Aress, Winu Consulting, Dealkhir DaaS, Rhitoric, EXPERTS ITN Maroc, LUXPURE, Monninnotech, and ALX Morocco were specifically mentioned for their enthusiastic participation.
