Egyptian HealthTech startup Cluster has won the Global Digital Innovation Award at the Next Generation Digital Action Summit 2025 in Copenhagen, placing it among the world’s most innovative companies in digital healthcare. The award highlights the growing global competitiveness of Egypt’s startup ecosystem and its capacity to solve critical global challenges.
A Global Stage for Egyptian Innovation
The award marks a significant international milestone for the Egyptian tech landscape, proving its ability to compete in advanced digital health sectors. Cluster’s recognition comes as global attention shifts towards startups that tackle real-world issues like medicine accessibility and pharmaceutical transparency.
“We are proud to represent Egypt on this global stage,” said Dr. Mostafa El Awamy, Co-founder and CEO of Cluster. “This award reflects our deep belief in the power of innovation to cross borders and deliver real human impact. Our journey has been about persistence, vision, and the conviction that technology can make healthcare safer and more inclusive.”
The summit’s international jury awarded Cluster the highest scores across categories including sustainability, global scalability, advanced technology design, and social impact. The platform was particularly commended for improving access to authentic medicines and combating counterfeit drugs, which cause over half a million deaths annually in Africa, according to UN reports.
Clara AI Revolutionizes Pharma Logistics
At the core of Cluster’s success is its proprietary AI model, “Clara,” which can understand customer needs and process pharmaceutical orders in seconds. This innovation drastically reduces human error and boosts supply chain efficiency.
“Our platform has become one of the region’s most attractive solutions for pharmaceutical supply chain partners due to its speed, integration capabilities, and intuitive user experience,” stated Mahmoud Abdelhamid, Co-founder and CTO.
This intelligent automation, combined with the company’s modular architecture, has established Cluster as a regional leader in digital pharmaceutical logistics and AI-driven health operations.
Fuelled by Local and International Ecosystems
El Awamy credited the entrepreneurial ecosystem at DTU Skylab for its role in the team’s development, expressing gratitude for the mentorship from Marie Louise Pollmann-Larsen and Asger Riis Rasmussen.
Back home, Cluster extended its appreciation to its Egyptian partners, AUC Venture Lab at the American University in Cairo and TIEC’s StartIT Program, for their continuous support in helping local entrepreneurs achieve international exposure.
