Bahrain’s first angel investment company, Tenmou, successfully hosted the 10th edition of the MENA Angel Investment Summit 2025. The landmark event, held in the presence of Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, brought together over 50 investors, 20 startups, and more than 200 attendees from across the region and the globe, reinforcing the Kingdom’s growing status as a vibrant startup hub.

A Milestone For The Bahraini Ecosystem

Suhail Ghazi Algosaibi, Chairman of Tenmou, emphasized the significance of the summit’s tenth anniversary as a reflection of the remarkable growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in both Bahrain and the wider region. He noted that the event serves as a critical nexus for founders and investors to exchange ideas and expertise.

“Reaching the tenth edition of the MENA Angel Investment Summit is a significant achievement that reflects the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bahrain and the region,” stated Algosaibi, expressing his ambition to continue this journey for another ten to twenty years.

More Than Just Capital

Algosaibi highlighted that the summit’s value extends far beyond securing funding. He stressed the importance of dialogue and collaboration among entrepreneurs as a primary driver of innovation and growth.

“Even if founders do not receive direct investment, the exchange of experiences and cross-pollination of ideas can be more important than raising funds,” he explained. The continued success of the summit over a decade is a testament to its pivotal role in supporting startups.

A Decade of Impact

Since its establishment between 2011 and 2012, Tenmou has been a foundational partner in Bahrain’s startup landscape. Algosaibi revealed that the firm has invested in over 35 startups since its inception, with several delivering outstanding returns, including one company that achieved a 60x return on the original investment.

Tenmou operates within an integrated framework in collaboration with key stakeholders like the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Tamkeen, and StartUp Bahrain, collectively working to foster a supportive environment for emerging companies.

The summit featured a distinguished lineup of regional and international speakers who shared insights on the latest global trends in angel investing and venture capital. The agenda included discussions on driving innovation and achieving sustainable economic growth.

Prominent speakers included Nezar Kadhem, Founder and CEO of Bahrain-based hospitality tech company Eat App, which now serves over 5,000 restaurants in 90+ countries and has raised $17 million to date. Sherif Abdel-Aati, Co-founder and Chairman of GAINZ, also shared his two decades of experience in building and exiting ventures.

A panel discussion on empowering regional startups featured leading VCs, including Zainab Al-Sharif, Partner at +VC, and Zaid Al-Borshaid, Investment Manager at Antler MENAP, who provided insights into early-stage funding and cross-border partnerships.
