Algeria has concluded its national innovation hackathon, InnovTech, an initiative designed to accelerate digital creativity and leverage advanced applications of 5G and other emerging technologies. The event was organized through a strategic partnership between the National Agency for the Valorization of Research Results (ANVREDET) and telecommunications leader Djezzy.
The closing ceremony, held at the Sidi Abdellah Science and Technology Hub, was attended by high-level officials, including Kamel Baddari, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Nour Eddine Ouadah, representing the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, signaling strong governmental support for the nation’s tech ecosystem.
Fostering Next-Generation Technologies
The hackathon provided a platform for young researchers and innovators to develop cutting-edge digital solutions. Participants were challenged to build projects utilizing 5G networks, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data.
This focus aligns with Algeria’s strategic goal of fostering a vibrant tech entrepreneurship scene and equipping its talent pool with the skills necessary to compete in the future digital economy. The initiative aims to drive the national innovation ecosystem towards new horizons by identifying and nurturing high-potential tech projects.
