Regional innovation platform Open Startup has officially announced a strategic partnership with Tamwilcom, the Moroccan government’s guarantee and financing institution. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Open Startup’s expansion within the Kingdom, aiming to contribute directly to the objectives of the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy. The partnership will focus on deploying the Startup Venture Building (VB) program to foster a new generation of science-based ventures.
Empowering Science-Preneurs in Climate and Health
The core of this partnership is the rollout of the Startup Venture Building (VB) program, an initiative designed to bolster deep tech and science entrepreneurship. Open Startup and Tamwilcom aim to support Moroccan “science-preneurs” who are developing solutions to critical global challenges, specifically within the climate and health sectors. By providing specialized support to these high-impact verticals, the program seeks to bridge the gap between scientific research and viable commercial ventures, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a hub for deep tech innovation.
Building on a Five-Year Legacy
This new agreement builds upon Open Startup’s established presence in the Moroccan ecosystem over the past five years. During this period, the organization has supported over 50 startups, mentored more than 100 entrepreneurs, and trained 70 innovation coaches. Additionally, Open Startup has successfully hosted its flagship “Global Immersion Week” (GIW) in Morocco, connecting local talent with global networks. The partnership with Tamwilcom represents a renewal of this commitment, allowing Open Startup to amplify its impact and further integrate into the national infrastructure for digital and economic growth.
