Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce has announced a significant acceleration in commercial activity, with over 486,000 new commercial registries issued in 2025. This surge has pushed the total number of active registries in the Kingdom past 1.8 million, signaling strong investor confidence and the tangible results of its economic diversification strategy.
The data also revealed a 20% year-on-year increase in company registrations, which reached 192,000 in 2025. This growth underscores the robust momentum across key sectors central to the Vision 2030 transformation plan.
Vision 2030 Fuels High-Growth Sectors
The increase in business registrations is not uniform, with emerging and high-impact industries showing remarkable growth. This trend highlights a strategic shift towards a technology-driven, diversified economy.
Artificial intelligence technologies led the expansion with a 34% rise, bringing the total number of registries in the sector to 19,042. Closely following was the travel and tourism industry, which grew by 31% to 10,665 organizations, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing status as a global tourism hub.
Tech and Entertainment Lead the Charge
The technology and entertainment sectors demonstrated particularly strong performance. Virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies saw a 29% increase to 11,725 registries, while cybersecurity activities grew by 27%, reaching 9,766.
The burgeoning electronic games manufacturing sector also recorded a 27% rise, with 841 new registries. The amusement and theme park sector expanded by a healthy 20%, now totaling 8,376 active registries.
Sustainability and E-commerce Maintain Momentum
Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainability was also evident in the commercial data. The number of vehicle charging station operations increased by 26%, reaching 4,313 registries.
Meanwhile, the established e-commerce sector continued its solid growth trajectory with a 9% increase, bringing its total to 43,854 registries in 2025 and cementing its role as a key pillar of the digital economy.
