Egypt’s Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund (ISF) has announced a significant achievement for its portfolio, with a startup from its GEN Z incubation program securing first place at the Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) 2024 – Egypt competition. The victory highlights the growing capabilities of young Egyptian entrepreneurs to compete on both local and international stages.
Following the win, ISF reaffirmed its commitment to empowering a new generation of founders and innovators. The fund emphasized its ongoing mission to foster a robust entrepreneurial environment that supports the development of a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy in Egypt.
Strengthening University-Industry Links
In a related initiative to bolster the nation’s innovation ecosystem, ISF partnered with Benha National University and the Leadership Preparation Institute in Helwan to host the final activities of an intensive training camp for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum.
The event was held under the patronage of prominent academic leaders, including Dr. Gamal El-Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, and Dr. Tamer Samir, President of the University. It brought together key figures from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, demonstrating a unified effort to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
A Strategic Partnership for Innovation
The training camp, which took place from February 1st to 5th on the Benha National University campus, was a key component of the INNOVENTURE 2024 university innovation forum. The strategic partnership between the university and ISF aimed to cultivate a culture of innovation, develop the skills of students and aspiring entrepreneurs, and provide a pathway for transforming innovative ideas into executable, economically viable projects.
The closing ceremony was attended by a distinguished audience of academic and executive leaders, industry experts, investors, and entrepreneurs, all gathered to support the ecosystem’s goal of converting creative concepts into successful business ventures.
