In a strategic move to bolster its national business ecosystem, Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), through its Qatar Digital Academy and the SMEs Go Digital Programme, has initiated a series of awareness workshops in collaboration with Google Cloud. The initiative is designed to equip small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the necessary skills to adopt advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
A Hands-On Approach to Digital Adoption
Hosted at the Google Cloud Center of Excellence in Qatar Free Zones, the workshops provided an immersive learning environment for participants. The sessions, led by Google Cloud experts, featured a blend of interactive presentations and practical, hands-on training.
The curriculum was carefully crafted to focus on practical AI applications and digital solutions that SMEs can immediately implement. Key areas included enhancing products and services, boosting productivity, strengthening data management protocols, and automating critical operational processes.
Fostering a Data-Driven Business Culture
A core objective of the collaboration is to empower SMEs to make more informed, data-driven decisions. Participants were introduced to a suite of digital tools and platforms specifically designed to support business expansion and operational scaling.
By fostering these capabilities, the initiative aims to significantly improve the operational efficiency and overall competitiveness of Qatari SMEs. This proactive approach prepares local businesses to not only navigate but thrive in an increasingly digital global market and adopt emerging technologies with confidence.
Aligning with Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030
These workshops are a key component of a wider strategy under the SMEs Go Digital Programme, which targets pivotal sectors across Qatar to accelerate digital adoption. The initiative is in direct alignment with the ambitious goals of Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030.
By strengthening the technological readiness of its SME sector, the MCIT is actively cultivating an innovation-led business ecosystem and reinforcing the nation’s position as a forward-thinking digital hub in the region.
